Meet Our Staff!

Masuma Barrett, DVM, MS, CVA
Originally from Colorado, Dr. Masuma Barrett graduated from Colorado State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 followed by an Internship in Internal Medicine, Surgery and Emergency Medicine in New Mexico. Prior to veterinary medicine, Masuma was a Software Engineer for 12 years and served with the Peace Corps in Central America. However her lifelong love for animals and passion for animal welfare brought her to the animal care field.

Dr. Barrett’s interests include emergency medicine, internal medicine and surgery. She also has a special interest in integrating alternative and conventional veterinary medicine to tailor pain management and long-term care. Certified through the Chi Institute, she is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and also practices herbal therapy and food therapy.

Her family includes her husband, and 2 dogs. In her spare time she fosters rescued animals, enjoys biking, reading and hanging out with her family. She is also a member of the National Veterinary Response Team of New England, a part of the National Disaster Response Team. Veterinary medicine is her passion, not a job, and she looks forward to being your other family doctor.

Sarah Koniers, VMD
Dr. Sarah Koniers grew up in central Pennsylvania where she began working with a local equine veterinarian throughout high school. She graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA with a degree in Biology/Biotechnology. While at WPI, Dr. Koniers was an active member of the cross country and track teams. She attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, PA where she received her VMD degree in 2009. She worked in a small animal practice in the greater Philadelphia area before recently relocating back to New England. Dr. Koniers interests include internal medicine, neurology, and behavior.

Dr. Koniers lives in southern NH with her husband Jim, her daughter Theresa, and her dog and cat. When not working she enjoys running, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. Dr. Koniers loves practicing veterinary medicine and is very excited to be working with you and your treasured pets.

Jeffrey Frechette
Office Administrator
Jeffrey graduated from Keene State College with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology in 2007. He has over 8 years of customer service experience working in both retail and hospitality. Jeffrey has been in the animal care field for 6 years. While Jeffrey loves all animals he has a special interest in exotics and has owned or fostered more than he can count. Jeffrey currently has a chocolate Lab named Bruno and a Border Collie mix named Kafka. Jeffrey enjoys being outdoors, hiking, camping, swimming, and also loves to cook.

Laura Lemieux
Veterinary Technician
Laura attended the University of New Hampshire in Durham for Veterinary Technology and Equine Science. For 6 years she worked at the Humane Society in Nashua as an adoption counselor and veterinary technician, caring for over 1700 cats and dogs a year. Laura has always had a love of animals. As a child she spent most of her time working at a barn to pay for riding lessons and competing in events with her horse. Laura shares her home with her 3 cats Lexi, Smithers and Little Kitty and 3 dogs Otis, Shinra and Saki.

Eunice Hoshizaki
Certified Veterinary Technician
Eunice graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology. While in Chicago she worked as a production editor in a publishing company, a freelance proofreader, and then as a curatorial assistant and assistant exhibit developer at the Field Museum of Natural History. Eunice began working with animals after she moved east eleven years ago and has a great deal of experience working at animal shelters. She worked at the Humane Society in Nashua for a few years and now enjoys doing almost all the behavior consultations and training classes for both of Dr. Magnuson’s veterinary practices. Eunice has always had a special interest in animal behavior and now attends dog behavior and training seminars every year. In her free time Eunice enjoys reading, bird watching, traveling, and spending time with her pets.

Christopher Mawby
Veterinary Technician
Christopher is a recent graduate of the Veterinary Technology Program at Great Bay Community College. When he is not working he enjoys hunting, fishing and most other outdoor activities. He also likes spending time with his family and their two dogs. In the near future, Chris is planning to get a Chesapeake Bay Retriever with aspirations of training it not only for hunting but to also compete in field trials.

Karen Benedict
Veterinary Technician
Karen is a graduate of the S.U.N.Y. Farmingdale Technicial Program. She has been employed as a technician for over fifteen years and has had several years experience working with animal shelters. Originally she is from Erie, PA, where she spent most of her free time fostering and re-homing strays. She recently relocated to the New England area and enjoys the company of her three cats, Jasper, Callie, and Pixie, and three dogs, Bugsy, Nino, and Luna.

Lindsay Devito
Veterinary Assistant
Lindsay graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS in Animal Science concentrating in pre-veterinary medicine. For 12 years, Lindsay has been an active member at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua working as an animal care and adoption counselor. Lindsay has always been an animal lover. Being raised by her parents who professionally bred and raised conformation Shetland sheepdogs, Lindsay always knew she would have a future with animals. Lindsay currently shares her home with three Miniature American Shepherds Ricky Bobby, Marcy, and Shorty; and a Border Collie named Ziggy. In her free time, Lindsay trains and competes in competitive agility, obedience, and conformation with all three of her dogs.

Maria West
Veterinary Assistant
Maria has been interested in working with animals since high school, with one of her favorite topics being animal behavior. She completed an animal behavior course and became a certified trainer in 2006. She has been working for the Humane Society for Greater Nashua for 5 years where she still enjoys helping newly adopted animals and their owners to adjust to their new living arrangements. Currently she is a technician at the shelter and a veterinary assistant here at All Pets Veterinary Hospital looking to broaden her knowledge in hopes of becoming a certified veterinary technician. When not at work, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband Jason and 2 cats, Jodie and Patience, who were adopted from the shelter next door.

Candice Ferguson
Veterinary Assistant
Candice obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 2005, but has always had a love for animals. Her passion started as a child, nursing baby birds and squirrels back to health. In high school she participated in a two-year Veterinary Science program, while working at a local pet store caring for small animals, birds, and reptiles. She has worked as an adoption counselor and currently an Animal Care Technician for two years at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. She looks forward to continuing her education in the future. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors,hiking, and mountain biking with her fiance Gary, and spending time time with her dog Kona, two cats ZIggy and Zoey, and countless foster animals.

Christopher Lassiter 
Technician Assistant
Christopher  is currently a student at Nashua High School South and plans on graduating in 2012.  Christopher has a great animal loving spirit and he enjoys caring for and learning about animals.  Christopher aspires to be a Veterinary Technician or a Veterinarian, however which one he decides on, he most definitely has a long term goal of a career that revolves around animals.  In Christopher's spare time he volunteers at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. His other interests include spending time with his family, enjoying the outdoors, listening to music and spending time with his Yorkie Mr. Big!

Marissa Zaino
Technician Assistant
Marissa is currently a student at Bishop Guertin High School.  She has two pets, a Maltese named Coconut and a Hamster named Lilac.  Marissa is very excited and thankful for the opportunity to work at a vet office to gain knowledge and experience working with animals.
